How to ask for a great men's cut
- Bring a photo. A picture of a cut you like, and ideally one you don't, says more than any description.
- Say how short on the sides. Tell your stylist whether you want the sides tight, medium, or just tidied, and how you like the back finished.
- Describe your mornings. Do you style it every day, or want something that works straight out of the shower? That changes the shape.
- Mention cowlicks and growth. If your hair sticks up in one spot or grows in a certain direction, point it out.
- Think about timing. Shorter styles show growth sooner. If you'd rather come in less often, ask for a shape that grows out well.
